Staff Development at Kassel University aims to improve the qualifications of Kassel University members and to prepare our staff for changing and challenging job situations. We coordinate programs on further education and attend to individual qualifications and profiles.
Doctoral research students are only part-time members of Kassel University and their future job requirements are unknown. Therefore, research students must develop a set of skills in order to meet job requirements in various fields of employment.
Kassel University supports the training of soft skills in the following lines to young academics and researchers requirements:
- teaching skills (excellence in teaching, evaluation of teaching techniques) - research skills (funding techniques, third-party funding management, presentational skills)
- research and science management (administrative skills, management skills, leadership, self-organisation)
The further education training program offers seminars and workshops on soft-skills training.
You can find the course book here.
Our course program is aimed at the staff of Kassel University as well as young academics and young scientists in general, thus also at doctoral students.
