General Course Information

Studying at the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture is supported by strong interdisciplinary links across all three programs. In addition to degree-specific content, interdisciplinary ASL modules facilitate insights into the other disciplines and potential relationships between them. Joint projects provide ample material for discussion, covering a broad spectrum of concepts, designs, planning and details. This diversity is a reflection of professional reality.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE

In the six-semester bachelor's degree program, basic skills that are a prerequisite for working in planning and design professions are learned. These include, in addition to basic knowledge, an understanding of spatial thinking and causal relationships, the design of spaces and processes, the usage of technical and communicative instruments, whether by hand, computer or model construction, and the presentation of your own work.

In the practical fifth semester, in addition to the recommended voluntary work experience in workshops, offices and agencies, a specific professional practice project will be conducted as a fixed part of the study program. Information on this is supplied by the Office of Professional Practice Studies (BPS).

Bachelor of Science degree graduates are qualified to pursue careers in planning or continue their studies in a master's degree program.

MASTER OF SCIENCE

The four-semester master's degree program offers a variety of different focus areas within the ASL disciplines, which enables students to become specialists in their chosen field. The knowledge you have already obtained will be developed specifically in accordance with your interests and capabilities, concluding with a four-months master's thesis. The master's degree complies with the requirements for official certification with the Association of Architects, Landscape Architects and Planners.
